Rokken the Night Away
After years of waiting to see DOKKEN, I finally did last night. Whew! What a long wait but worth it! Didn’t matter that I didn’t get to see them back in the day when Don was such a cutie, running all around the stage-dancing and singing, his outfits were great looking, his voice was just heavenly.
What’s important is that I did see them play. As they played I couldn’t help but think back to their earlier hits, which he still includes in his set. Sure, the voice is different but, still sounds awesome considering how long he’s been singing. Totally appreciate the talent and effort they put forth at this show. It really was a kick ass show!
Don is a rejuvenated person; he sounds great and looks great- he has slimmed down quite a bit. Like the way he still dresses, totally rocker style! I love his new energy and he’s quite a funny guy- just in case you didn’t know that about him.
Mick, Jon and Sean rocked the heck out of their solo’s! For those thinking that the original lineup is still the best, it was back in the day. Give this line-up a chance..they all get along which comes off big as they play well together. Their focused and they especially sound great.
They kept me dancing for the entire time of their 1.5 hour set; which made me feel 15 again :) and for that I still thank the Metal Gods that they are still Rokken after all these years and that I had the chance to see them for the first time.
